+ Meet the Osteopath +
Hi I’m Ellen,
I’m originally from Victoria and graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Shortly after graduating I moved to Perth.
I have always had an interest human movement and health. Throughout my childhood I did gymnastics for 20 years and went on to become a coach and competition judge. A highlight of my coaching career was taking a gymnasts to the Special Olympics.
Previously I have had the pleasure of practicing out of Melville Osteopathy and Sana Osteopathy. I currently practice out of Stirling. I also spent 2 years practicing in rural WA in Northam.
I have a firm structural approach to Osteopathy and love using joint manipulation, massage and dry needling in my treatments.
When I’m not working you can catch me out on a hike. I love exploring all the beautiful national parks that Western Australia has to offer.
I love treating all kinds of presentations but particularly enjoy treating:
Lower back pain
Neck pain
Shoulder pain
Headaches
Sacroiliac pain
My Pillars of Health:
These are the major aspects of health and wellbeing that guide my approach to treatment.

Our Techniques
-
Joint Mobilisation
Taking a joint through it range of motion to improve quality of movement and range of movement.
-
Joint Manipulation
Also know as HVLA. It is a quick and specific thrust where a patient may hear a ‘click’ to achieve full joint range.
-
Soft Tissue Massage/ Myofascial Release
Massage that sinks into your tissues to relieve tight muscles and other soft tissues.
-
Dry Needling
A technique where sterile needles are placed into a muscle to help it relax. Nothing is injected hence the name ‘dry’.
-
Exercise Prescription
The Osteopath may give you simple at home exercises so that you can better manage your pain at home.
-
Muscle Energy Technique
A technique that uses muscle contraction to improve joint range and flexibility. This can also be used in place of HVLA.
Most private health insurers cover Osteopathic Treatment but please check with your insurance provider to see if it is covered on your specific policy. Fees are to be paid in full at the time of your treatment.
-
An initial consultation is a 1hr appointment where the Osteopath will take a detailed history, completely a thorough musculoskeletal assessment and use hands on treatments to help aid your condition. All new patients to the clinic must book an initial consultation.
-
A 40min follow up appointment for existing patients.
-
Only for White and Gold Card holders with proper referral from the GP.
-
Visits under a care plan must be referred by the GP. A gap fee will be charged. The appointment is to be paid for in full and then the patient can claim the rebate from Medicare.
